Oct. 3, 2026 - Opening Night Concert: Prokofiev & Brahms

The season opens with spirit, warmth, and sweeping lyricism. Weber’s Overture to Euryanthe launches the evening with operatic drama and sparkling orchestral color. Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 follows – a work of striking contrasts, weaving together moments of haunting introspection and sharp-edged rhythmic vitality, highlighting the soloist’s expressive range. The concert concludes with Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, a sunlit masterpiece overflowing with serene beauty, rich harmonies, and expansive joy.

Take a breathtaking journey through an immersive experience that bridges music and panoramic imagery with photochoreography from Nicholas Bardonnay of Westwater Arts. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol dazzles with color and Spanish flair. Sibelius’ The Swan of Tuonela drifts into a mysterious, dreamlike world. Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending soars with peaceful lyricism and quiet reflection. The journey ends with Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite, an expansive musical portrait that captures the vastness and wonder of America’s most iconic landscape. 

Dec. 5, 2026 - Holiday Classics

Celebrate the season with a festive evening of holiday favorites featuring the Plano Civic Chorus, directed by Allen Hightower. This joyful concert combines beloved orchestral classics and the uplifting sound of voices in harmony. Holiday Classics is a musical celebration filled with cheer, nostalgia, and the spirit of the season.

Feb. 6, 2027 - Night at the Movies: John Williams

Experience the iconic scores of John Williams as they come alive in the concert hall with this salute to cinema. From thrilling classics like Jaws, Star Wars, and Harry Potter to the soaring melodies of Schindler’s List and Jurassic Park, this concert will take you on a musical journey that spans Williams’ 70-year career. Be swept away by the brilliance and masterful orchestrations that define one of the greatest film composers of all time.

Mar. 6, 2027 - Beethoven & Beyond

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the "Pastoral", is a tribute to nature and renewal. From flowing melodies that evoke the countryside to the vivid drama of a passing storm, the work unfolds as a series of vignettesx filled with warmth, charm, and quiet joy. Savor a moment of reflection and experience Beethoven at his most heartfelt and human. This concert will also feature the winner of the 2027 Ann & Charles Eisemann International Young Artist Competition for Piano.

Apr. 24, 2027 - Season Finale: Shostakovich & Mahler

The season concludes with a thrilling program of brilliance and bold expression. Montgomery’s Starburst begins the evening with kinetic energy and vibrant color. Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2, playful and sparkling, showcases the remarkable artistry of pianist Vitaly Starikov, Silver Medalist in the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition. The finale belongs to Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, Titan, a sweeping and deeply expressive, monumental work that moves from rustic, introspective innocence to a triumphant conclusion. A rousing and unforgettable close to a stellar season.
