The program will open with Barber’s “Adagio for Strings,” in loving memory of Maestro Anshel Brusilow (1928-2018), Music Director of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra (1992-2012) and Director of Orchestra Studies at the University of North Texas College of Music.
The orchestra will be joined by Aaron Olguin, winner of the Ann and Charles Eisemann International Young Artists Competition for Strings, performing Andres Martin’s “Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra.
The evening will conclude with Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, nicknamed “Jupiter,” which is one of the most recognized and beloved symphonies. The work’s uplifting melodies and energetic rhythms have inspired generations of audiences.
